Pre-Nuptial or Pre-Marital Agreements (“Pre-Nups”) are becoming more popular as the number of couples entering into second and third marriages increases and where one or both of the parties wish to protect the wealth they have built up prior to the marriage. Whilst Pre-Nups are still not legally binding as the Court has an overriding jurisdiction to put in place a fair settlement taking into account all the circumstances at the time of the divorce or dissolution, they can be a very good tool for planning your future together and avoiding unnecessary acrimony regarding the finances should the relationship break down.
Our team of family lawyers is experienced at drawing up Pre-Nuptial Agreements and can give you clear and sensible advice if you have been asked to sign one.
