Legal Secretary – Litigation
We are excited to be recruiting for a full-time Legal Secretary to join our Litigation team, based in our Fakenham office. The successful candidate will provide secretarial support to the Head of the Litigation team.
Main duties of the role include:
- Prepare correspondence and documents through audio typing and word processing.
- Administer file management which will include the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the Office Manual.
- To prepare legal bundles
- To prepare mail and enclosures for dispatch
- Complete initial screening for new clients
- Make appointments, arrange meetings and maintain an up-to-date diary.
- Attend to clients both face to face and over the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner, in keeping with the firm’s standards for client care.
- Provide support to other secretaries when required.
- Complete photocopying and documents shredding for the department.
- Work and behave in a professional manner and within the highest ethical and other standards of the profession.
- Comply with the procedures set out in the firm’s Office Manual, professional standards and any requirement set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
- To maintain the strictest standards of client confidentiality at all times.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings.
The successful candidate must have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise their own workload as well as having strong communication and interpersonal skills. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar legal secretarial position is essential.
