As of 1 April 2023 Butcher Andrews converted to a limited liability partnership (LLP), Butcher Andrews LLP, which is registered in England and Wales with registration number OC420659.
Reasons for changes
An LLP structure is the preferred corporate structure for professional services firms and a significant number of UK law firms have converted in recent years. We believe it is right for us to also convert to this structure, to provide the firm with a transparent and modern business platform to help with our future growth and planning.
Legal effect of changes
From the Transfer Date, Butcher Andrews LLP took on all the obligations and liabilities of Butcher Andrews. All lawyers and staff members automatically transferred their employment to the LLP and continue to work as normal to progress the matters on which Butcher Andrews was instructed. The LLP assumes responsibility for these matters going forward.
Transfer of information
All information held by Butcher Andrews transferred to Butcher Andrews LLP on the Transfer Date. Butcher Andrews LLP will control and be responsible for that information from the Transfer Date and will use that information to continue to operate and conduct the practice.
Continuity of client service
This change does not affect in any way the delivery or quality of service that we provide, nor does it change the way in which we operate or work with our clients. We remain absolutely committed to providing the highest level of client service and the conversion simply means that clients will now be advised by a firm which has adopted a modern corporate structure.
There will be no significant change to the operation or management of the firm and the only obvious change will be to our registered name. There will be no change to the rights our clients enjoy by instructing a solicitors’ practice authorised under the Legal Services Act 2007. Butcher Andrews LLP will be regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (with SRA number 8000074) in the same way that Butcher Andrews is.
