Butcher Andrews has expanded and strengthened its Litigation Team recently.

BA Litigation Team 2020

David Richards, who joined us in March 2020 (during lockdown), is the head of civil litigation.  David specialises in construction litigation, but is also experienced in dealing with commercial disputes, landlord & tenant disputes (residential and commercial), wills & probate (and trusts) disputes, personal injury & clinical negligence claims (and defences), professional negligence claims (and defences), boundary disputes, trusts of land & other land disputes, debt recovery, consumer disputes and agricultural disputes.

Harriet Rossi qualified in September 2020, having trained at Butcher Andrews.  She specialises in property disputes, with a particular emphasis on landlord & tenant disputes (residential and commercial).  For commercial leases, this includes disputes relating to security of tenure under the Landlord & Tenant Act 1954 and agricultural disputes, whether the interest is a Farm Business Tenancy, an Agricultural Holding or a common law lease.  For residential, this includes eviction proceedings (e.g. those following a s8 notice or a s21 notice), issues relating to lease extensions, dealing with trespassers or disputes as to the nature of a leasehold or other interest in land.

April Lyon also qualified in September 2020, having trained at larger East Anglian firm.  She specialises in wills & probate disputes, which includes disputes as to the validity of the will, undue influence, fraud/forgery, Inheritance Act disputes, trusts disputes, the interpretation or rectification of wills and similar documents and certain other Chancery proceedings.

Maria Smith remains the legal secretary for the team, whose role includes debt recovery and litigation support.
